What Does The NxStage System Do For You?
- Cleans your blood like a healthy kidney. It gently pumps your blood through a specialized filter (called a dialyzer) to wash away the toxins and waste products that build up in your body every day.
- Removes extra water weight. When your kidneys cannot get rid of excess fluids, this machine steps in. It safely extracts the extra water to reduce swelling, protect your heart, and lower your blood pressure.
- Gives you your energy back. Because it is easy to use at home, you can dialyze more frequently (like 5 or 6 days a week instead of just 3). This closely mimics natural kidneys, leaving you feeling less washed out and giving you more daily energy,
- Makes its own clean fluid from your tap. With the PureFlow SL attachment, the system takes normal tap water and turns it into ultra-pure dialysis fluid right in your room.
- Travels everywhere you go. The main unit is about the size of a large microwave. It plugs into standard household outlets, packs into the car, and can even run on pre-made fluid bags while you are staying at a hotel or camping.

Pushing the volume into the red causes distortion. Monitoring your ultrafiltration rate and pump speeds stops you from removing fluid too quickly, which can cause sudden blood pressure drops, cramps, and dizziness.
